The name is taken from the part of the evening most houses pretend does not happen. The clothes are made for it: the late dinner, the last round, the walk home and the slow morning after.
What Marcel Afters makes
- The Essentials: plain heavyweight tees, tanks, polos, hoodies, full-zip hoodies, crewneck and quarter-zip sweatshirts, joggers, sweatpants and shorts, in quiet colours.
- Athletics: high-waisted leggings, sports bras, yoga and biker shorts, track pants and quick-dry performance tees for men and women.
- Evening: black dresses in soft stretch knit, including a V-neck maxi and a slim sleeveless midi, left completely unbranded.
- The Collection: heavyweight tees, hoodies and sweatshirts carrying the house drawings of places, tables and late nights.
What makes the fabric different
Weight is stated, not implied. Every product page gives the fabric weight in gsm (grams per square metre) and the exact fibre content, so you can compare before you buy.
- Tees run from 150 gsm (quick-dry performance) to 430 gsm (the vintage washed frayed tee), with most around 300 gsm.
- Hoodies are typically about 360 gsm; the heavyweight full-zip hoodie is 420 gsm, 85% cotton.
- The heaviest piece is the quarter-zip pullover sweatshirt, at 750 gsm in 100% cotton.
- Most tops are cut loose or oversized with a dropped shoulder; slim, regular and fitted cuts are labelled on the product.
